Julia P. Fortes "Djudja", 73 passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Hope Health & Hospice. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands, she was the daughter of the late Luis Pereira and Ana (Spencer) Pereira. She was the wife of the late beloved husband, Jose J. Fortes of 47 years. She leaves behind a son, Luis J. Fortes and two beautiful grandchildren that she loved dearly she also is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.

Djudja immigrated to the United States in 1973 to Jersey City, NJ before moving to Pawtucket RI in 1978. She retired from Rhode Island Hospital after many years working in Housekeeping. Everyone who knew her adored her because she had such a amazing touching smile.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandson Gavin and loved telling amazing memorable stories of Cape Verde. Her love for her family and friends will forever remain unmeasurable and remembered by everyone.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, August 11th at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln from 5 pm - 7 pm. Family and Friends will meet directly at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 291 High St., Pawtucket for a mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10am. Burial will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Riverside.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904
